Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) started bus services in Telangana from the 19th of May.

On the 18th of May, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, allowed the TSRTC services from today.   However, the State run buses would run only within the State except in Hyderabad.

The buses started from 6:00 A.M., from the 19th of May with all the staff members, like drivers and conductors.  Before joining the duties, the TSRTC employees went through thermal screening.   K.Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, asked the TSRTC official to submit a detailed report regarding the start of the TSRTC buses and depots and routes.

The area where the TSRTC buses are allowed includes Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Hyderabad, buses would not be allowed to run from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS.)  Buses running to Warangal would be diverted to start from Uppal towards Nalgonda crossing the LB Nagar. Buses heading to Mahbubnagar may be run through Aramghar.

TSRTC  made it mandatory to wear face masks, sanitisers and maintain social distancing.

The State Government asked the passengers to maintain physical distance and no passenger was allowed to stand in buses.  Tickets were also being sold based on the seating capacity and space.

The  buses are running with the old ticket fare as the TSRTC is yet to take a call on the prices of the bus tickets. However, it is expected, the bus price would be increased due to the loss faced by the TSRTC due to the lockdown from the past two months.

Stay tuned for further updates.
