E. Ashwathama Reddy, the Convenor of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Joint Action Committee (JAC,) thanked the TSRTC employees for continuing the strike.

The TSRTC employees went on an indefinite strike on the 5th of October.  The strike entered its 52nd day on the 24th of November.

Ashwathama Reddy staged a protest on the 24th of November near a statue of Professor Jayashankar.  During the protest, Ramesh, a TSRTC JAC leader, addressed the TSRTC staff and said, “We are prepared to join unconditionally.”

The TSRTC strike is still going on as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government did not respond to the request of the TSRTC leaders to take back the employees.

After the TSRTC employees dropped all their conditions, they urged the State Government to hold a meeting and let them rejoin duty.

On the 24th of November, after addressing the RTC staff, Ashwathama conducted a meeting at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and discussed the future course of action with the TSRTC JAC union leaders.

During the meeting, the TSRTC JAC leaders decided to protest at all the bus depots and main junctions with ‘Save RTC’ placards.

Ashwathama Reddy is expected to continue the strike and the protest until K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, asks the TSRTC employees to rejoin duty.

Stay tuned for further updates.
