The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) announced to operate more than 4,000 special buses during Dussehra in Telangana.

On the 7th of October, the TSRTC took the decision to arrange special buses from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh and various other destinations.    The additional buses would clear passenger rush during Dussehra festival, which would help commuters to visit their native home towns during the festival. 

From the 8th of October, a total of 4,035 buses would operate till the 15th of October, Dussehra.

Of the total 4,035 buses, 3,084 buses would be operated from Hyderabad to districts in Telangana and another 951 buses would ply to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh.

This is not the first time the Telangana Government and the State Road Transport started additional buses.  Every year during Dussehra and Diwali, the State Government begins additional buses to reduce the rush and make travel easy for commuters.  In regard to this, police personnel would also be deployed at starting points to ensure that people do not use private vehicles for travel. 

Mr. Bajireddy Goverdhan, the Chairman of the TSRTC and Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, the Managing Director (MD) of the TSRTC has appealed to the people to use TSRTC buses for safe travel.

This additional bus services, starting from tomorrow could help the TSRTC to cover losses suffered during the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  During the festive season, with passengers travelling home, the TSRTC could generate profit. 

In addition, the public transport carrier announced that four communication cells are being set up in Hyderabad for the convenience of the public. These are being established at Rathifile Bus Station (Ph.No.9959226154) Koti Bus Station (Ph.No.9959226160) Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (Ph.No.9959226257) Jubilee Bus Station (Ph.No.9959226246).
