G. Kishan Reddy, the Union State Home Minister, on the 6th of November, dismissed the allegations of the Telangana Government over fund release for the State’s development.

Mr. Reddy said, on the 5th of November, the Union Finance Ministry released Rs. 117 crores to the Telangana Government.

The amount was released by the Bharatiya Janata Party led Central Government for the development of Telangana.

Mr. Reddy denied the accusations of the Telangana Government and said the funds were released as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government’s commitment for the living conditions of people across the State.  

The amount has been credited under the development scheme. 

The amount would be released for the building of local bodies in Telangana and to enhance the air quality in Hyderabad.

The additional Rs. 117 crores has been released a week after the Union Government’s Rs. 224 crores release.  The amount was released for the flood affected damage in Telangana. 

The amount was released under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF.) 

Mr. Reddy also before the pre release of SDRF funds, the Centre also released Rs. 202 crores for repair and maintenance of roads in Telangana. 

The statement of Mr. Kishan Reddy came after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) led Telangana Government accused the Central Government of not releasing funds for the State development.
