With the Unlock 1.0., and re opening of restaurants, tiffin centres and other hotels to eat, from the 8th of June, the prices also increased from the previous ones.
many joint eating places, drive ins, tiffin centres offering regular food of Hyderabad like Idli, Dosas and Biryanis, increased the prices from the 8th of June.
The decision to increase the price might be due to the 2 months lockdown and economic downfall. In regard to this and to overcome the financial crisis faced during the lockdown many eating places did the same making it expensive for the customers hooked to traditional food in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Earlier, the tiffin centres charge Rs. 30 per plate idly, but now the prices are up by Rs. 5, which means per plate idly would cost Rs. 35.
The offers extended by online food delivery services were also stopped. as customers need to pay the actual amount without any additional discounts.
This affected the business and number of regular orders to online food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy as well as the local restaurants.
However, the local vendors and tiffin centres are trying to generate money and cover up their losses.
Meanwhile, the shops and restaurants would be under supervision of government officials and need to maintain social distancing, following the guidelines of the COVID-19.
