In the recent Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination 2021, 30 candidates of Telangana cleared the examinations.  

Of the total 685 candidates who qualified for the Civil Services Examination, 30 candidates who have been recommended for the official post are from the Telugu State of Telangana.

The candidates who have been selected in the Civil Services Examination are:

Priyamvada Mhaddalkar, who became the state topper bagging an all-India rank (AIR) 13.  Other toppers are, V. Sanjana Simha (rank 37,) Kopisetti Kiranmayi (56,) Tirumani Sri Pooja (62,) Gaddam Sudheer Kumar Reddy (69,) Argula Sneha (136,) Bhokka Chaitanya Reddy (161,) Ranjith Kumar (574) and Bachu Smaran Raj (676.)

The Telangana topper of the Civil Services Examination Priyamvada Mhaddalkar said, “I was extremely happy when I came to know that I am a state topper.  My focus was to do my best and the rest just happened.” 

Speaking about her schedule, Priyamvads Mhaddalkar said, “I used to prepare for 8-9 hours every day.  Consistency is important for the civil services exam.  It is important to be regularly updated on current affairs and allocate some time every day for preparation.  My preference is the education sector, particularly girl child education.”

Furthermore, of the total toppers, 50 candidates are from the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile,  across India, 685 candidates including 508 men and 177 women were recommended for appointment.   Among those successful, 244 are from the general category, 73 from the Economically Weaker Sections, 203 of the Other Backward Classes, 105 from the Scheduled Caste and 60 from the Scheduled Tribes.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages, preliminary, main and interview — to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.

Furthermore, the written or main part of the examination was conducted in January 2022 and the interviews were held in April and May this year.
