The recently launched political party the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) received a major setback.
On the 19th of August, a leader of the YSRTP Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala submitted her resignation. After discussing the same with her followers, Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala resigned from the recently launched YSRTP.
Speaking about the reason behind the decision, Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala said she joined the Y.S. Sharmila led YSRTP, as Ms. Sharmila promised to prioritise Telangana’s growth and development. However, failing to witness any action plan to achieve the goal, Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala decided to quit.
Before joining the YSRTP, Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala was a member of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC.) She said, growing politics and internal dispute within the Indian National Congress (INC) was the reason she left the Party in Telangana and joined the new YSRTP.
Now, she tendered her resignation to Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSRTP. When asked about the future course of action, Ms. Indira Shoban Poshala said, she would share her future plan in a couple of days.
This is a major setback for the newly launched YSRTP, which is expected to be a strong opposition to the existing political parties in Telangana.
The Y.S. Sharmila led YSRTP was launched on the 8th of July, the birth anniversary of late Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
In addition, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila is aiming to contest the 2023 Assembly elections against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
