In the past 24 hours, Telangana witnessed a total of 409 new Wuhan virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus cases, 3 deaths and 453 recoveries from the deadly virus. With this, the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) active cases in Telangana, came down to 6,865
Highlighting the recoveries, compared to the previous, below 500 recoveries in a day, Telangana also reported a fall in the recovery cases.
The figures of the COVID-19 infection were released through a media bulletin. On the evening of the 19th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updates about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
With this, Telangana now has 6,54,035 positive cases, of which 6,865 are active cases, 6,43,318 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,852 are deceased.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 88,308 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.37 crores till date.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Medchal Malkajgiri, Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (71) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (45) and Rangareddy with 28 cases.
Meanwhile, with a slight fall in the COVID-19 cases, the active containment zones are at 18 from the previous 19 with no micro containment zones in Hyderabad.
The recovery rate of Telangana also improved to 98.36% from the previous 98.35 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic. In addition, a total of 1.63 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Telangana till date.
