Sidhu had resigned from the Rajya Sabha on 18 July, fueling speculation that he may join the AAP.
“Awaaz-e-Punjab”-former Indian Hockey team captain Pargat Singh and cricketer turned politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu will contest the Punjab assembly elections next year with the official launch of “Awaaz-e-Punjab.”
The 117 assembly elections are likely to be held in January or early February next year.
Sidhu along with Balwinidar Singh Bains and Simarjeet Singh Bains, the two independent legislators will address a press conference. The Bains brothers are independent candidates, leaning towards AAP. Pargat on the other hand was from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD.)
