Chennai: The weather department has issued a cyclone alert for north Tamil Nadu and south coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next two days. The area has been witnessing thundering and heavy rainfall for the past days due to depression in the Bay of Bengal.
The depression has moved nearly northwards, the Weather department has issued the cyclone alert on Wednesday. Heavy rains are likely at a few places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala also. Chennai has already recorded 101 mm rainfall since Tuesday.
