New Delhi: In a very strange request of a wife, doctors of AIIMS were shocked when she asked them to retrieve sperm of her dead husband.
According to the sources, the woman requested for her partner’s sperm so that she can have a baby. Reportedly the deceased parents also supported this bizarre request. The couple tied the knot just a few years back and did not have a child.
Eventually, the request was rejected as there are no clear guidelines on Post Mortem Sperm Retrieval (PMSR) system in India. As the doctors at AIIMS have sought clarity on PMSR to handle such cases in future.
