Yet another blow in the face of KFC chain of restaurants. Many allegations were made against the company in the past, but never like this one. According to reports, a man from California was horrified when he sat down to eat his KFC takeaway and discovered what he thought to be a ‘deep fried rat’.
Going into the details, Devorise Dixon ordered a box meal in a KFC outlet in Wilmington, California. When he started digging into his meal he realized that one of his breaded chicken pieces had a ‘tail’ and looked somewhat like a rodent.
He said that at first, he believed it to be a strangely shaped bit of chicken, and he added that he believes he found a genuine rat upon a further examination.
KFC on the other hand is pretty serious about the baseless accusations. Speaking to the Media, the restaurant bosses stated that no evidence was found to support Dixon’s claims, but did not confirm exactly what the food was.
Dixon took pictures of his meal and posted his social media and named it the KFC fried rat.

While responding on the incident, the company spokesperson said: ‘This happened in the US and, following an immediate investigation, no evidence was found to support this claim.Food safety is our highest priority worldwide and we take allegations of this nature extremely seriously.’
And he is right, so far no evidence of the chicken being a rat was found by the health inspectors. But all the same, this incident definitely leaves the blot on the face of restaurant’s brand.
