Gary and Angela Williams, who were at Lancashire Beach when they noticed the large smelly piece of rock. This stinking bizarre looking rock turned out to be a lump of whale vomit.
Whale vomit or Ambergris is often used in making perfumes and carry a worth of lakhs and crores. The duo were aware about ‘Ambergis’ in newspapers earlier and knew that it is a highly-prized substance, hence they decided to wrap it in a scarf and carried it to their home.
According to the reports, Garry said, “If it is worth a lot of money, it will go a long way towards buying us a static caravan. It would be a dream come true.” On being weighed, it was found out that the piece of rock is 1.57 kgs. And thus, an estimated amount of Rs. 47 lakhs is being negotiated with the potential buyers.
Several years ago, near Morecambe, a similar lump was discovered which was almost twice the size this one was.
