History of Yoga:
Yoga, the way to achieve harmony and peace between your body and soul, was a part of the Vedas, specifically, the Rigveda.
The word yoga is derived from a Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means ‘to join together.’ According to Indian mythology, Lord Shiva was the first one to perform yoga, following which, yoga became a part of Indian mythology.
In the 19th and 20th century, yoga was taught across the world. Swami Vivekananda, Ramdev Baba, Swami Rama, T. Krishnamacharya and Jaggi Vasudev were some of the yoga gurus who devoted their life to teach yoga and its importance.
Twitter is flooded with videos and images showing how India is celebrating the 5th International Yoga Day.
