H.D. Kumaraswamy, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, on the 12th of September, took a jibe at Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and criticised him for Vikram Lander’s unsafe landing.
On the 12th of September, Mr. Kumaraswamy addressed the media in Mysuru and commented about the Chandrayaan 2 mission and its Vikram Lander.
Mr. Kumaraswamy said, “He (Modi) came to portray it as if he himself was landing Chandrayaan 2, even though it was scientists who worked hard on this for 10 to12 years, and Cabinet approval for the project was given in 2008 and 2009. He came here to try and claim that the moon mission began because of him. I don’t know, but maybe his stepping into the ISRO centre brought bad luck to scientists.”
On the 7th of September, while landing on the surface of the Moon, the Vikram Lander lost contact with the ISRO.
Kumaraswamy blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said due to the presence of PM Modi, the ISRO lost all contact with the Chandrayaan 2’s Vikram Lander.
The ISRO team is still trying to establish communication with the Lander.
