The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 26th of October, announced it would conduct a legislative meeting on the 30th of October.
Chandrakant Patil, the President of the BJP in Maharashtra, called for the meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 11:00 A.M., on the 30th of October at Vidhan Bhavan. During the legislative meeting, the Party would also decide the President of the BJP’s legislative party in Maharashtra and chalk down strategies for forming the Government in the State.
The BJP won 105 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly independently and called all the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to be a part of the meeting.
The BJP contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections in alliance with the Shiv Sena and marked a majority of 146 seats. On the other hand, the alliance of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won 44 and 54 seats respectively.
On the 25th of October, the Shiv Sena also conducted a meeting with the newly elected MLAs of the Party.
Both the Shiv Sena and the BJP would soon meet and discuss the 50-50 power sharing formula and decide about the Government formation in Maharashtra.
