Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography, on the 24th of April, conducted a meeting to discuss about the pandemic illness in Telangana.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet ministers, Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs,) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) and other officials.
The major topic of the discussion was the measures taken to prevent the virus, the stranded migrant labourers in the State and COVID-19 cases.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav recalled all the measures taken– like free distribution of ration to migrant labourers and White Ration Card holders, implementation of lockdown, financial aid of Rs. 1,500 to migrants and White ration card holders.
In addition, the State Government also banned spitting on roads, announced mandatory face masks, delivery of essential commodities at homes, government notice to schools and junior colleges directing to not demand 3 months fees and hike academic fees from 2020-2021.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) organised shelter homes for beggars, where ministers, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) workers and others are providing meals for them.
After discussing the smooth implementation of all the schemes, the minister concluded the meeting and decided to conduct another review meeting soon
Meanwhile, Telangana recorded a total of 984 cases of Novel Coronavirus and 26 deaths till date.
