On the 3rd of September, India recorded biggest surge ever in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.
Since the infection broke out, it is the highest single day spike ever. In the past 24 hours, India reported 83,883 fresh Coronavirus cases and 1,043 deaths.
India is the first Nation to report such a huge single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus cases. However, in terms of positive COVID-19 cases, the United States of America and Brazil are the top two worst COVID-19 hit nations, followed by India.
If the cases continue to rise with a single day spike of over 84,000, then India is likely to takeover Brazil.
India is just 1.5 lakh behind Brazil, the world’s second most affected Nation from the Novel Coronavirus infection.
India conducted as many as 11,72,179 sample tested for COVID-19, Taking the overall tally to 4.55 crores.
With these updates, there are 38,53,406 positive cases, 8,155,38 are active cases, 2,970,492 discharged/cured and 67,376 deceased.
In India, Maharashtra reported a record spike of 17,433 new cases, its highest single day count so far, taking its tally to 8,25,739.
Andhra Pradesh, which has become the second worst COVID-19 hit State recorded 4,55,531 cases with 10,392 new cases in the last 24 hours.
With 5,990 new COVID cases, Tamil Nadu’ is the third worst COVID-19 State. The tally in Tamil Nadu has reached 4,39,959.
In addition, Karnataka and Telangana are also reporting hike in the cases since the past few weeks.
Karnataka in the last 24 hours reported its biggest spike of 9,800 cases and 113 deaths. With this, the infection in Karnataka is at a total of 3,61,341 and the number of deaths to 5,950.
India has been reporting “one of the lowest COVID-19 fatality rates in the world” with the figure further declining to 1.76 per cent against a global average of 3.3 per cent, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. “While the global average is 110 deaths per million population, India is reporting 48 deaths per million population. The comparative figure for Brazil and the UK is 12 and 13 times higher, respectively,” the ministry said.
International passengers who have to take connecting domestic flights after landing in India can undergo tests for COVID-19 at the entry airports, the Civil Aviation Ministry said on Wednesday. If the RT-PCR test result is negative, the international passenger will be allowed to catch his or her connecting domestic flight and he or she will not need to undergo any institutional quarantine at the destination city, the ministry’s order said.
On the other hand, the global number of the Novel Coronavirus patients crossed 26.7 millions and claimed lives of nearly 8.56 lakhs.
Globally till the 3rd of September, there are 26,184,512 positive cases and 8,67,374 died of the infections.
