The third and final phase of Bihar Assembly elections 2020 finally came to an end on the 7th of November.
With this, the State contested for 243 Aseem seats in three phases.
While the first and the second phase was conducted on the 28th of October and the 3rd of November respectively, the third and final phase was held today, the 7th of November.
Today 55.22 % of voters casted votes and performed their franchise.
The Election Commission of India announced the voters’ turnout. On October 28, roughly 54.26% of 21.4 million people voted across 71 seats while in the second phase of voting that was conducted on November 3 across 94 assembly constituencies spread over 17 districts, the provisional voter turnout stood at 55.70%.
A total of 23,554,071 eligible voters across 15 districts were registered in the third phase of polling to decide the fate of 1,204 candidates.
The major parties contesting the elections are the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) including right wing parties like the Janata Dal (United,) the Vikassheel Insaan Party, the BJP, the Hindustani Awam Morcha and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) which has the Indian National Congress (INC,) the RJD, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist.)
Of the 243 total seats, In the NDA, the Janata Dal (United) JD(U) is contesting 115 seats, the BJP 110 seats, Vikassheel Insaan Party 11 seats and Hindustani Awam Morcha seven seats of the total 243 seats in the state.
Meanwhile, in the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance,) the RJD is contesting 144 seats, the Indian National Congress (INC) 70, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) CPI-ML 19, CPI six and CPI-M four.
The results would be declared on the 10th of November.
