The official residence of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, Pragati Bhavan, has property tax due of Rs. 13.19 lakh.
According to sources, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government failed to pay property tax and left it pending for four years (2017-2021.) The amount altogether increased to Rs. 13.19 lakhs, including arrears, interest and tax money.
The tax amount should be paid within six months of each financial year. For every six months, Telangana Government needs to pay Rs. 1,91,794 and per annum, it will be Rs. 3,83,588. However, since the last four years, the State Government did not pay the amount which resulted in such a huge amount.
