Amaravathi: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has vehemently criticized the white paper released by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which alleged corruption in land, sand, and mining sectors. Former Minister Dr. Merugu Nagarjuna dismissed the document as baseless, stating that Naidu provided no evidence to support his claims.
Dr. Nagarjuna highlighted that the Supreme Court ruled that Dasapalla lands do not belong to the government, with landowners voluntarily giving up their plots. He accused Naidu of ignoring the illegal land grab by Gitam University, which seized 38.6 acres of prime government land.
Addressing Naidu’s allegations about housing sites, Dr. Nagarjuna defended the YSRCP’s initiative to provide homes to the poor, distributing 28,000 acres of government land and purchasing 25,000 acres transparently. He also noted that revenue from minerals significantly increased under YSRCP’s governance, countering Naidu’s claims of resource mismanagement.
Dr. Nagarjuna asserted that the YSRCP’s Land Re-survey and Titling Act, recommended by the central government, ensures land security for the poor, challenging Naidu to oppose it at the national level.
