Amaravathi: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced on Monday that the state government is preparing a proposal to establish a High Court bench at Kurnool, fulfilling a promise made to the people. The proposal will be forwarded to the Central Government for approval after a resolution is passed by the state Cabinet.
During a review meeting on the Law Department at the State Secretariat, Naidu emphasized the importance of setting up an International Law School in Amaravathi. The school, to be established on 100 acres, will be modeled after prestigious institutions like the National Law School of India in Bengaluru and the India International University of Legal Education and Research in Goa. The Chief Minister urged officials to expedite this project.
Naidu also directed the implementation of a Rs 10,000 monthly honorarium for junior advocates, as promised in the party’s election manifesto. He called for the creation of an academy to train junior advocates and emphasized the need for speeding up investigations and increasing conviction rates in criminal cases.
He further stressed resolving disputes related to government properties and urged the prosecution wing to instill public confidence by ensuring that criminals are appropriately punished.
