Rajahmundry: Former Minister Chelluboyina Venu Gopala Krishna has slammed the TDP coalition leaders for allegedly creating a corrupt business environment in Andhra Pradesh, where a 30% commission is required for any business operations. Speaking at a press conference at the YSRCP office in Rajahmundry, he accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government of enriching its leaders at the expense of the state’s resources.
Venu Gopala Krishna highlighted that during the YSRCP regime, significant steps were taken to curb alcohol consumption by shutting down 43,000 belt shops. However, the new government has reversed these efforts, leading to a resurgence in alcohol sales and posing a risk to public health.
He further criticized the TDP coalition’s policies on liquor and sand, calling them disastrous. The former minister pointed out that the sand shortage under the new regime has severely impacted the construction industry, leaving thousands of families in financial distress. Despite promises of free sand, prices have skyrocketed, and he alleged that 45 lakh tonnes of sand were looted by the coalition leaders in just one month, depriving the state of valuable revenue.
