
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, stated on Monday that the state is not only competing with other Indian states but also with developed nations in the IT and electronics sectors. Speaking at a meeting with the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) in New Delhi, chaired by ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mahindra, Lokesh emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to become an electronics hub.
Lokesh highlighted that the state government has established a task force of leading industrialists to address industry challenges and drive growth. The IT and electronics sectors are expected to create 20 lakh jobs in the next five years, supported by a customized industry-friendly policy.
He further added that Visakhapatnam will be developed as an IT powerhouse and an artificial intelligence (AI) capital, while Tirupati will emerge as the electronics hub. Additionally, Anantapur and Kurnool districts will be advanced as centers for the automobile and electronics industries.
Andhra Pradesh is committed to providing incentives for industries to set up operations, aiming for rapid economic development under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
