Tadepalli: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has urged party leaders and cadres to mobilize massive protests against the government’s decision to impose an additional Rs 15,000 crore burden on the public through increased electricity tariffs.
Addressing district presidents via a teleconference from the party’s central office, Reddy directed leaders to organize large-scale rallies and submit memorandums at electricity offices in all constituency centers on December 27. He criticized the power tariff hike as a betrayal of the government’s pre-election promise not to increase electricity charges, labeling it as unjust and widely opposed by the public.
Reddy emphasized that the protests, led by YSRCP, have already gained strong public support. He urged grassroots leaders, village representatives, and civil organizations to actively participate and amplify the movement. “This protest must make the government realize public resentment and force them to withdraw the tariff hike,” he stated.
Additionally, Reddy called on party leaders to support farmers affected by recent heavy rains, asking them to meet with farmers, assess their problems, and assure them of the party’s assistance.
The protests aim to reaffirm YSRCP’s commitment to addressing public grievances and opposing policies detrimental to citizens’ welfare.
