Vijayawada: Former Chief Justice of India, Justice NV Ramana, passionately emphasized the need to protect and promote the Telugu language and culture at the Sixth World Telugu Writers Mahasabha held in Vijayawada. Addressing the gathering, he commended attendees for their dedication to the cause under the slogan, “Let’s save Telugu language. Let’s increase self-respect.”
Justice Ramana praised Ramoji Rao as a “warrior who tirelessly worked to preserve the Telugu language and traditions.” Highlighting Telugu as a language spoken by over 100 million people, he described it as melodious, poetic, and culturally rich.
He urged everyone to safeguard the legacy of eminent Telugu poets, writers, and artists such as Sri Sri, Vishwanatha Satyanarayana, NTR, Akkineni, and many more. “Our language is our identity; without it, we are orphans,” he remarked, calling for collective efforts to protect Telugu heritage.
Justice Ramana also stressed the responsibility of governments, media, and people to promote Telugu, similar to the model adopted in Tamil Nadu. He appealed to voters to support leaders committed to the development of the mother tongue.
“Telugu language and culture must flourish for generations to come,” he concluded, urging continuous efforts for its survival and growth.
