Karimnagar: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay criticized the Telangana Congress government, accusing it of demanding hefty commissions for approving bills. Addressing a press conference on Monday at his MP office in Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay claimed that commissions ranging from 8% to 14% are being demanded to clear pending bills of former sarpanchs.
Bandi Sanjay revealed that around 12,796 former sarpanchs in the state are awaiting bill payments amounting to ₹1,300 crore. “Three ministers have been appointed solely to oversee these commissions, sparking internal discord within the Congress due to opposition from some honest ministers,” he stated.
He also highlighted issues plaguing private colleges and hospitals due to delayed fee reimbursements and alleged the state government’s failure in maintaining law and order. Criticizing the Congress for prioritizing debates on topics like movie star Allu Arjun in the assembly, he said, “This is a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the implementation of six guarantees.”
Responding to claims of BJP disrespecting former leaders like Manmohan Singh and Ambedkar, Bandi Sanjay argued that Congress disrespected Ambedkar by delaying his Bharat Ratna honor and reducing Manmohan Singh to a “rubber stamp.”
The meeting was attended by Akkenapalli Karunakar, president of the Ex-Sarpanch Association, among others.
