American Republic Frontrunner, Donald Trump swept primaries in five Northeastern states on Tuesday, heading closer to wining the Republican presidential nomination as he defeated rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich.
Trump won in Pennsylania, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware, a United States media said. Next battle of Trump will be next week in Indiana. Where as Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, leading the Democratic race, defeated challenger Bernie Sanders in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Clinton, in a victory speech in Philadelphia, took aim at Trump for accusing her of trying to “play the woman card” in seeking to become the first female US president. “Well if fighting for women’s healthcare and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the woman card, then deal me in,” she said to cheers. “Let’s go forward, let’s win the nomination, and in July let’s return as a unified party,” she added.
Most importantly, the bombastic 69-year-old New York real estate mogul extended his lead in the all-important race for the delegates who will officially choose the Republican nominee at the party’s convention in July.
