On Thursday, the BCCI has appointed Anil Kumble as the new coach of Team India. After the meeting in Dharmasala with the committee, BCCI president Anurag Thakur announced the name.
Out of 57 applicants BCCI finally confirmed Indian coach. Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman trimmed the 57-applicant list and interviewed 10 candidates.
However, Anil Kumble, the legendary former Indian spinner is in the pole position. The BCCI-appointed high-profile Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman completed the interview process in Kolkata on Tuesday, where they interviewed six to seven candidates.
