New Delhi: Judith D’Souza, an Indian woman who was kidnapped in Kabul last month has been rescued, said Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj today early morning. Sources added Ms. D’ Souza, who is “safely” with Indian embassy officials in Kabul will return to India “very soon”.
“I am happy to inform you that Judith D’souza has been rescued,” Ms Swaraj tweeted at 6 a.m. Today.

Judith D’Souza’s brother Jerome D’Souza thanked the Indian government and tweeted: Gratitude to @SushmaSwaraj for meeting me. Her assurances on bringing back Judith give us hope that she will be home soon. Thank you Ma’am!
40-year-old Indian woman who works for Agha Khan Foundation as senior technical adviser was kidnapped on June 9 outside her office. Hailing form Kolkata, Judith was in Kabul for over a year on her second stint in the Afghan capital. The Embassy advises all Indians in Afghanistan to live and work with adequate security precautions.
