First time in Indian history, a minister in India tweeted about her health status and her tweet was shared within minutes by her 6.5 million followers. Sushma’s tweet reached far more people than a press team in less time. Many came forward to show their gratitude towards External Affairs Minister after Sushma Swaraj shared her tweet about her treatment for kidney failure at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Delhi. Ms.Sushma Swaraj tweeted saying,” I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless.” She further added saying “With your good wishes and Lord Krishna’s blessings, I will be able to come out of this situation.”

While many tweeted back for help, a young farmer named Vishek Vishnoi of Ekakhori village in Osia of Jodhpur came forward to offer his kidney for transplant. Vishek’s purpose behind the donation was to help the one in need and not because Ms. Swaraj is a minister. The young man wanted to help and so he came forward with a helping hand. Mr. Vishek deeply respects and admires Sushma Swaraj for playing a crucial role in rescuing labourers who were trapped in Gulf countries. The young farmer said, “Sushma Swaraj has always been prompt in lending her helping hand to those in need. She worked silently and played a key role in the rescue of many labourers who were trapped in Gulf countries. Her work and helping nature made me offer my kidney.”
Around 10,000 Indian workers faced food crisis after losing their jobs in the UAE. Sushma Swaraj then stepped in to help and made arrangements to serve them food by coordinating with the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and monitored the situation on an hourly basis. It is indeed her good deeds which have helped her in the present situation.
