Farmers of Amaravati, on the 26th of December, met Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

The meeting came at a time when the majority of residents of Amaravati are protesting against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) for proposing to have 3 State capitals.

During the meeting, the farmers submitted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and asked the Governor to intervene and do something to keep Amaravati as the State capital.

Besides, the farmers also explained the consequences if the State Government goes ahead with the decision of having 3 capitals—the residents of the State would continue the protests.

The farmers are protesting against the 3 capitals proposal as they sacrificed their lands for the growth and development of Amaravati as the only capital.

Concluding the meeting with the A.P., Governor, the farmers said Mr. Harichandan responded positively and assured to look into the matter soon.

Meanwhile, on the 27th of December, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., is scheduled to conduct a Cabinet meeting to take the final decision regarding the issue of State capital.

Stay tuned for further updates.
