Guntur: Former Minister Ambati Rambabu strongly criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for making what he called baseless allegations regarding the sacred Tirumala laddu prasadam. Speaking to the media in Guntur on Tuesday, Ambati called for a high-level investigation, insisting that only a Supreme Court-monitored inquiry would reveal the truth.
Ambati dismissed CM Naidu’s decision to order a DIG-level probe as insufficient and laughable, while also criticizing the proposal of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation. He questioned Naidu’s attacks on YV Subba Reddy’s wife, accusing him of trying to create religious discord with baseless claims.
The former minister also took a swipe at Naidu’s credibility on religious matters, questioning his commitment to Hindu customs. He further raised concerns about actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s fasting protest, pointing out the lack of outrage during the TDP regime when temples were demolished.
Ambati ridiculed the government’s claims of a laddu desecration and questioned the specifics of the alleged adulteration of ghee. He demanded a Supreme Court investigation, as proposed by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, while also criticizing the lack of action against MLA Pantam Nanaji, who attacked a Dalit professor.
