Andhra Pradesh: AP High Court Adjourned Three Capital Bill Petition To January 28

The Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) on the 27th of December, Monday, reviewed a bunch of petitions filed against the Three Capitals Bill.

The HC bench reviewed the matter and adjourned the matter to the next hearing, on the 28th of January, 2022.  The Andhra Pradesh Court asked the petitioner to file a note in details regarding the matter within the next 10 days.

Furthermore, the HC said that the detailed argument over the Three Capital issue would be heard from the 28th of January.  On the other hand, the High Court directed the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government to file affidavits after the lawyers’ notes were submitted on behalf of the farmers.

Reportedly, Mr. Shyam Diwan, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court is representing the farmers of Amaravati, protesting against the three capital issues.

Meanwhile, on the 22nd of November, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced the repeal of the Three Capital Bill.

However, the YSRCP Government said that the A.P., Government has not given up the idea of three capitals and would come up with a revised bill.

Considering the statement of the YSRCP Government, the farmers of Amaravati, who gave up their land to make it the Capital City are protesting against the Government.
