Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, approved the design of the Assembly building, which will be situated in Amaravati. The design is proposed by Norma Foster, a U.K. based architect.

According to the blueprint, the Assembly building will include two key buildings, the Legislative Assembly and the High Court Complex. The building will be cyclone and earthquake proof.

The building will have two galleries of 80 meters and 250 metres, capable of accommodating 300 people and 20 people at a time, respectively.

The Assembly building will be situated near a lake and will be surrounded by the Secretariat and cultural buildings.

P. Narayana, the Municipal Administration Minister, said, “The proposed building will consist of three floors and a tower which will give the building a shape of an upturned lily flower.”

The firm Foster + Partners was working on the design since 2017 and recently came up with the final design, with some minor changes by Chandrababu Naidu.

After the proposal of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly building, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, is planning to make a 201 metres tall statue of Lord Rama. The Karnataka Government also announced the construction of a 125 feet tall statue of Mother Cauvery.
