Amaravati: In a move to promote transparency and honor the Telugu language, the Andhra Pradesh government has directed all departments to upload Government Orders (GOs) in both Telugu and English on the GOIR web portals. The General Administration Department issued the directive, marking a significant step in making governance more accessible to the public.

“Andhra Pradesh is the first linguistic state in the country, with over 90% of its population speaking Telugu. Government orders play a crucial role in conveying decisions, policies, and regulations. Making them available in Telugu alongside English ensures wider reach and greater transparency,” the government stated in its order.

The initiative underscores the state’s commitment to preserving Telugu language and cultural heritage. The IT department has been instructed to implement systems allowing GOs to be uploaded in both languages, either simultaneously or within one or two days of each other.

The General Administration Department has already begun implementing the order, uploading bilingual GOs starting Friday. This effort reflects the government’s intent to ensure inclusivity and respect for the linguistic identity of Andhra Pradesh.
