Andhra Pradesh HC Allows Discharge Of Dr. Sudhakar Reddy

The Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC,) on the 5th of June, allowed the discharge of Dr. Sudhakar Reddy in Visakhapatnam.

The High Court on the 5th of June held a hearing of a petition filed by Sudhakar Reddy’s mother and demanded his release from the mental hospital in Visakhapatnam.

In regard to this, the High Court announced to discharge Dr. Reddy, who was admitted to the mental hospital deeming his mental condition to be unstable.

Dr. Sudhakar Reddy would be discharged after the permission of the Mental Hospital Superintendent.  The court further ordered Dr. Sudhakar Reddy to co operate with the  Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) probe.

Dr Sudhakar’s mother Kaveri Bai filed a habeas corpus petition in the High Court on the 4th of June, stating Dr. Sudhakar was taken into custody illegally.

Meanwhile, the High Court directed the Government to file a counter claim against Dr. Sudhakar’s petition.

The CBI is currently investigating the matter.
