The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection is rising in India with a spike of 9,000 plus cases in just 24 hours.   While the Central Government opened everything to enhance economic conditions, the pandemic crisis is being worsened with every day increasing numbers.

Despite issuing lockdown norms, mandatory face masks, sanitizers, SOPs for shops and other guidelines, the numbers are terrific.  On the 6th of June, the Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed 9,887 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus, increasing the total to 2,36,657 cases till the 6th of June.   Coronavirus infection claimed as many as 294 lives, the highest number of one day spike in deaths taking total to 6,649.

After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan were also reported high numbers of COVID-19 cases and are the worst hit due to the Novel Coronavirus.

Maharashtra has 80229 cases, Tamil Nadu has 28,694 cases, Delhi (26,334) Gujarat (19,119,) Rajasthan (10,084,) Uttar Pradesh (9,733,) Madhya Pradesh (8,996) and West Bengal (7,303.) 

Other top states with COVID-19 cases below 5,000 are Karnataka (4,835,) Bihar (4,598,) 

Andhra Pradesh(4,250,) Haryana (3,597,) Jammu and Kashmir (3,324,) Telangana (3,290,) Odisha (2,608) and Punjab (2,461)

Meanwhile, India entered the 74th day of the nation wide lockdown and 6th day of the Unlock 1.  While places which are designated as Red, Orange and Green zones could open under Unlock 1, containment zones, especially in 13 cities of India would be under the lockdown 5.0., till the 30th of June.   Under the 1st phase of Unlock 1, religious places, restaurants and shopping malls are also allowed to open from the 8th of June.    On the 4th of June, the Ministry of Home Affairs, released a set of guidelines for all the restaurants, religious places and shopping malls, which would resume functioning from the 8th of June, across India. 

Railways and aviation services are also resumed with the social distancing norms and new guidelines for the staff and the passengers travelling,

The precautions taken amid the opening is said to be to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus and recover from the economic crisis, which India is facing.  Due to the nation wide lockdown, from the 24th of March, Indian businesses, small enterprises and Government of India, suffered an economic crisis.

However Unlock 1 would be applicable only in other zones like Red, Green and Orange zone, whereas, the 5th phase of the nation wide lockdown would be applicable to containment zones The containment zones have been identified in 13 worst hit cities of India, which recorded 70% of the total cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

These reopenings of public places may bring a drastic hike in the number of cases from the already existing numbers.

The nation would open in three different phases.  The lockdown 5.0., and Unlock 1 would continue till the 30th of June, following which the Central Government would think of Unlock 2.
