Andhra Pradesh has once again secured several awards at the national level under the National ‘Swachh Amrita Mahotsav’.
On the 3rd of October, Monday, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh secured a total of 11 ‘Swachh Sarvekshana’ awards. In addition, Mr. Adimulapu Suresh, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Minister for Municipal and Urban Development, received the award from President of India Draupadi Murmu, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
After receiving the award, the YSRCP Minister Mr. Adimulapu Suresh said that the awards were won with the efforts of the local administration, officials and all the systems under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
As per sources, the Tirupati Municipal Corporation got the first rank under ‘Safai Mitra’ Municipal Corporation, Vijayawada bagged the ‘Clean Municipality’ award, Visakhapatnam won the the ‘Clean Big City’ award Pulivendula got the ‘Best Innovation’ award and Punganur got the ‘Best Citizen Feed Back’ award.
In addition, Visakhapatnam received another award as ‘Top Impact Creator’ and Srikakulam Municipality received two awards. Besides, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Vijayawada also received ‘Five Star City’ awards as ‘Garbage Free City,’ in India.
Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Vijayawada are the three cities that stood in the Top 10′ cities of the country in terms of cleanliness.
As per the YSRCP Government, under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the State has developed in many aspects, including cleanliness. In order to achieve Swacch Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP Government took many initiatives and launched campaigns, since 2019, after it came into power.
