A series of attacks on temples in Andhra Pradesh is causing concern among locals.

Another incident took place on the morning of the 1st of January 2021 in Rajahmundry Sriramnagar area of Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, unidentified persons broke both the hands of the idol of Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy in Vigneshwara temple.

The priests who opened the doors of the temple this morning noticed this and informed the police.

The Central Zone Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh and Commissioner Inspector (CI) Durga Prasad, who reached the spot, inspected the situation.

The close team was called in and details were gathered. He said a case would be registered on the incident and those responsible would be severely punished. The Vigneswaraswamy Temple is located near the house of TDP state leader Ganni Krishna. 

On learning the matter, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and temple trustee Ganni Krishna along with his followers reached the spot and reviewed the situation. He later said that attacks on Hindu temples and idols in the state had become routine. He lamented that the demonic rule was going on in the state and that the anti-Hindu activities had gone unchecked.
