In Andhra Pradesh, the weather department issued a fresh rain alert in the Telugu State.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to the effect of the Surface Trough from the Bay of Bengal, the Telugu state is expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in many regions.

According to sources, there would be a possibility of light to moderate rains and heavy rains at some places in the North Coast, South Coast and Rayalaseema.  In addition, thunder and lightning would also occur and gusty winds have been predicted in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh. The surface trough formed in Southeast Bay of Bengal, which continues up to 5.8 km above sea level is the cause.  It has been revealed that the low pressure is also likely to form in West Central Bay of Bengal on Thursday due to the effect of the trough, causing rainfall in the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Heavy to moderate rainfall has been predicted in the coastal regions and low lying areas of Andhra Pradesh.  The citizens of the alerted regions are asked not to venture out and fishermen were also prohibited to go fishing near the coastal regions.

The rainfall is expected to continue till the 10th of September, confirmed the IMD.
