Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government for humiliating the Governor’s office.
On the 8th of September, Thursday, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan slammed Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, for discriminating a woman governor. During an event “Beginning of Fourth Year in the Service of People of Telangana” organised at the Raj Bhavan, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “governor’s office was humiliated.”
Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan recalled the 75th Independence Day, when she was disheartened by the fact that the Governor was not allowed to hoist the flag. She said, “The state will write history how a woman Governor was discriminated. I was denied the Governor’s Address and the hoisting of the flag on Republic Day. Even now wherever I go protocol isn’t followed. Office should be respected.”
Highlighting one such humiliated incident, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “Recently there was a southern Zonal Meeting, I attended it as a Lt. Governor of Puducherry and in that meeting, 75% of the issues were from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. All the Chief Ministers were there then why didn’t the Chief Minister (KCR) not attend it? When the union Home Minister is there to solve the problem then what is the problem with you (KCR) why are you not using that chance given to you that is why you should have a good relationship with the Central government.”
Speaking about the bad governance of the TRS Government, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan said the condition of the government hospitals in Telangana is really bad and a director of a government hospital is getting admitted to a private hospital. She further added, politicians are getting admitted to private hospitals.
Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan also pointed how district superintendents of police (SPs,) collectors and others are coming and not following protocols when a Governor of the State arrives. The Telangana Governor said, “I don’t know from whom they are taking instructions and not coming. I don’t care if they don’t come.”
The KCR Government is yet to respond to the criticism and statements of Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
