The Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 6th of April, released its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh (AP.)

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the occasion of Ugadi, released the manifesto, titled Mee Bhavishyattu Naa Badhyata (Your future is my responsibility.)

Naidu released the manifesto after performing a special puja, on the auspicious occasion of Telugu New Year, Ugadi, at the CM Camp Office in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP is the last party to release the manifesto for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh. The other two parties, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the JanaSena Party, released their manifestos before the TDP.

The promises in the manifesto are mostly regarding welfare schemes, development projects and farmers’ benefits.

The major highlights of the manifesto:
For farmers:
1. Approximately Rs. 5,000 crore price stabilization funds for farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
2. Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme for the farmers on an annual basis.
3. Unlimited interest free loans.
4. Free 12 hours of electricity supply for the purpose of irrigation in AP.

Development projects:
1. Micro irrigation development.
2. Industrial parks to be established at every mandal and urban centre in the State.
3. Establishment of the world’s biggest data centre in Visakhapatnam.
4. Special corporations for the Madiga, Reli and Yanadi castes in AP.

Women and senior citizens:
1. Free mobile phones for women under the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) scheme.
2. The benefits offered by the Chandranna Bheema scheme to increase from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.
3. Old age pension of Rs. 3,000, with a new eligibility age of 60 from the previous 65 years.
4. Unemployment allowance to increase to Rs. 3,000.

With the announcement of the TDP manifesto, the major parties are all set to compete against each other in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh will contest a total of 175 seats and 25 seats in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections respectively. The Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are scheduled on the 11th of April.

The major parties contesting in Andhra Pradesh are the YSRCP, the TDP and the JanaSena Party.

The results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
