To handle the second wave of the Wuhan virus and enhance the medical facilities for infected patients, the Andhra Pradesh Government inaugurated a temporary hospital. The hospital with 500 beds has been inaugurated specially for people infected by the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government with the support of the Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) constructed the hospital.
The newly launched hospital has been constructed using German hanger technology in just 15 days. It has 500 beds, medical facilities and other equipment to treat the Wuhan virus infected people. With this, the Andhra Pradesh hospital also became India’s second largest temporary COVID-19 hospital expanded at 13.56 acres wide land worth Rs. 5.5 crores.
The first such hospital has been constructed in Delhi.
The new A.P., COVID-19 hospital is located in Tadipatri town of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.
The virtual inauguration event was attended by several YSRCP ministers like Botsa Satyanarayana, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Gandham Chandrudu, the District Collector of Anantapur, the District Magistrate Anil Kumar Singhal, the Principal Secretary of Health of Andhra Pradesh and Arjas Steel Managing Director Sridhar Krishnamoorthy.
Meanwhile, as of now, Andhra Pradesh is one of the top five states with the highest number of Wuhan virus cases. The State has 17,28,577 positive cases, of which, 1,38,912 are active cases and 11,213 are deceased cases. In addition, the State is under strict curfew till the 10th of June.
