Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is all set to lay the foundation stone for the Bhogapuram International Airport.
Built at a cost of Rs. 4,592 crores, the laying of foundation stone event is on the 3rd of May, Wednesday. The airport is a major development plan under the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in Northern Andhra. The most awaited international airport in Bhogapuram is spread across 2,203 acres and is likely to be completed in the next 3 years. Situated around 50 kms from Visakhapatnam City, the Bhogapuram International Airport would focus on at least 60 lakh passengers, initially. Later, considering the traffic growth, the State Government would enhance the facilities in a phased manner, with an ability to handle more than 1.8 crore passengers per annum, confirmed sources.
Besides the international airport, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stones for Vizag Tech Park Limited (Adani Group) in Visakhapatnam. The awaited park is set up with an expenditure of Rs. 21,844 crores. The other development projects lined up for inauguration in Andhra Pradesh are: works of Taraka Rama Thirtha Sagaram Project costing Rs. 194.40 crores and Chintapalli Fish Landing Centre in Vizianagaram district.
