Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Congress State President YS Sharmila has criticized the central and state governments for their alleged inaction regarding corruption allegations involving the Adani Group. Speaking on Wednesday, Sharmila condemned the police for obstructing the Chalo Raj Bhavan protest in Vijayawada, organized to demand accountability in the alleged solar power contract scams.
In a statement, Sharmila accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of colluding with Adani. She cited reports claiming that the Adani Group allegedly bribed the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister ₹1,750 crore, as purportedly highlighted in an FBI investigation.
“Neither the central government nor the state leadership has initiated any inquiries into these grave allegations. Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Jagan remain silent, shielding Adani while the state’s reputation suffers due to corruption,” she remarked.
Sharmila demanded that the central government form a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to investigate the matter. She accused the ruling YSRCP of tarnishing Andhra Pradesh’s image by allegedly taking bribes and demanded immediate action to uncover the truth behind the alleged deals.
