The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 2nd of May, announced school summer holidays till the 11th of June.
The decision was taken in the wake of the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, which killed 33 people in the State and infected more than 1,500 till date.
The Department of School Education announced all schools in, government and private to remain closed.
The reopening date of the schools would depend on the pandemic situation due to the Novel Coronavirus infection.
The State Government is taking all the precautionary measure to contain the spread of the virus in the State. They even implemented strict lockdown rules in the Red zones of Andhra Pradesh.
On the 3rd of May, Andhra Pradesh recorded 58 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection, taking the total to 1,583 cases till date.
While Kurnool reported highest number of cases in the State with 466 cases till date.
