On the 13th of April, 33 Indian students from Italy entered Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) in a special bus.
On the 11th of April, 33 students were stranded at the Andhra-Chhattisgarh Border while coming to Visakhapatnam. The students reached Visakhapatnam in a special bus after crossing Raipur and Jagdalpur area.
The A.P., and Chhattisgarh Police allowed the entry of the students after the Union State Home Minister G. Kishan Reddy and Chief Secretary of A.P., Neelam Sawhney intervened into the matter.
The Italian students who came to Visakhapatnam on the morning of the 13th of April are quarantined for 14 days in government run homes and their samples were also sent for the COVID-19 test.
Meanwhile, the State Government announced 133 containment cluster zones in 11 districts of A.P., and imposed strict lockdown guidelines in those areas.
With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has a total of 420 COVID-19 positive cases with 7 deaths till date.
