The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government proposed to set up 25 districts.

However, as of now, the work on only 3 districts would begin in the 1st phase.  The three newly added districts are Machilipatnam, Gurajala and Araku.

Besides, the State Government would also began working on setting up medical colleges in these new districts, which were sanctioned by the YSRCP recently.

The State Government also estimated the cost of the college construction at Rs. 600 crores.

According to sources, if the YSRCP proposes the construction of medical colleges in areas where there are none, the Medical Council of India (MCI) may bear 60 % of the construction cost.

While the work on the 3 districts would begin soon, the work on the remaining 22 districts would begin in the other phases.
