Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) is scheduled to meet the Party’s Members of Parliament (MPs) in Amaravati.
The meeting, which is scheduled on the afternoon of the 28th of January, was organised to discuss the strategy regarding the current situation of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)
The situation in A.P., is tense as the State Government, led by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) passed a resolution to abolish the State Legislative Council.
Though the resolution was passed and approved by the A.P., Assembly, it needs the approval of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to come into effect.
The resolution would only be considered legal if Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, gives his consent after the Parliament’s approval.
On the morning of the 28th of January, Chandrababu Naidu conducted a meeting with the MPs of the TDP regarding the resolution. He is scheduled to conduct another meeting, where he would discuss the concerns of the farmers of Amaravati and the Amaravati Joint Action Committee (JAC.)
